I also have a 10-year-old granddaughter, and I wanted to be more mobile so I could do more activities with her. My balance has improved significantly thanks to Pilates – particularly on uneven surfaces and stairs. I’ve had a few instances in the past where I lost my balance and fell down. I was frequently worried about falling. Since I started doing Pilates, I have not fallen. In addition, we spend time at our cabin in the summer where we also have a boat. I always struggled to get in and out of the boat because of poor balance and knee issues. For the past three summers, I was able to climb into and out of the boat by myself. I haven't been able to do that in years. It was a relief to not have to rely on my family members to practically carry me onto the boat. I have so much more confidence in my balance and strength that it makes the time I spend with my granddaughter more enjoyable. I used to worry about going to the park alone with her – especially on a snowy day – for fear I might slip. Now, it’s not an issue. I can go to the park with her on my own. We can climb the hill at Gold Medal Park, dance, ride bikes and play tag together. I can enjoy doing activities with her without worrying that she’ll have to call the ambulance for me. Pilates has also helped improve my overall health. After a few months of doing Pilates, I had lab work done. My blood pressure, cholesterol and blood sugars were all substantially lower, and they have remained in the healthy range ever since. Overall, my quality of life has improved thanks to Pilates. I have more energy and I’m stronger overall. I’ve learned that anything is possible if you just show up for class.

Pilates is an ageless exercise regimen. At age 70, I needed to find a fitness routine on which I could build a healthy lifestyle. More importantly, I needed to find a coach who could push me to achieve my flexibility goals but also understand I don’t have the flexibility (at least not yet) of a 30-year-old. I have found both. In just a few short months, I have already seen my stamina and balance improve. I used to drag myself to the gym. Now I look forward to making more progress. I have lost...

Danielle has a unique way of encouraging and challenging her clients and tailor fits (almost weekly) her workouts for the needs of the client as he or she walks through the door. Like I said, Pilates is an ageless regimen with an intuitive coach.

Movement has been important to me for awhile now. I started running about five years ago, and I ran my first marathon two years ago. I have done yoga for a few years as a good way to stretch after a workout. I’ve also done strength training for nearly as long as I’ve been running. Until recently, I was regular at Alchemy and loved getting my sweat on before work. When Danielle started offering virtual Pilates classes during quarantine, it was just the right thing for me since I was working...

Until recently, I was regular at Alchemy and loved getting my sweat on before work. When Danielle started offering virtual Pilates classes during quarantine, it was just the right thing for me since I was working from home. I was surprised to discover how challenging Pilates is. For the first five or six weeks, I did virtual Pilates workouts three to four times a week with Danielle as a great way to break up my work day. After a few weeks I realized that this workout was no joke and my core strength had significantly improved. Neither weightlifting nor Core Power Yoga had helped me achieve those results. I love Pilates! It’s a great workout. I have made Pilates with Danielle part of my weekly routine because my form is better in everything I do, including my ballet class, weightlifting and improved posture while sitting at my desk.

I have a medical condition that prohibits me from doing some of the standard exercises, but I didn’t know that the exercises could cause an injury. I learned this from Danielle who did research on my behalf to modify the movements to keep me safe from injury. During COVID-19, Danielle showed her flexibility by setting up Zoom sessions for our group and eventually conducted sessions in a neighborhood park for us. She modified the timing and the days to suit our group’s needs. I can wholeheartedly recommend Danielle as an excellent pilates instructor who listens to her clients and develops a program that works for them.

I started taking Pilates classes two years ago after I started to struggle increasingly with overall stiffness and osteoarthritis in my shoulders, neck and ankles. I started taking Pilates classes two years ago after I started to struggle increasingly with overall stiffness and osteoarthritis in my shoulders, neck and ankles. I was looking for something that would increase my flexibility and strengthen my muscles. I also had a hip replaced about six years ago and was hoping to continue to strengthen the muscles around my hip. Throughout my two years of Pilates, I have noticed a steady and significant increase in my flexibility, strength and balance. I can move with more agility. In addition, my cross country skiing has greatly improved and I no longer have arthritic pain and stiffness, particularly in my ankles and feet. I’m also more conscious of my posture in athletic activities and everyday actions. I constantly self-correct old habits that have led to muscle and joint problems. My improved balance has helped with hiking difficult trails and rocky terrain, as well as cross country skiing - especially on the fast downhill parts of the trails. Core strength from Pilates also prevented me from falling into the Yampa River during a whitewater rafting trip. My raft was traveling through a Class IV rapid and nearly overturned. I held on tightly and was able to bring myself upright and back onto the raft by relying completely on core strength. I would not have been able to do that a year ago. I appreciate the individualized attention that Danielle provides - even in a group setting. I learn best when feedback and correction are provided frequently. The group experience makes the process a social one and more enjoyable. I also love that my progress is so evident in my everyday activities. Danielle exhibits great concern for the overall well-being of each student. I always look forward to coming to class. There is one more aspect of Danielle’s instruction that I believe is essential to highlight. When the Covid-19 pandemic began to spread and all fitness facilities were shut down, Danielle did not skip a beat with her class offerings. She immediately put classes online using Facebook and, eventually, Zoom, to keep us all moving. Those first few weeks of the stay-at-home mandate were extremely stressful and Danielle’s online classes and cheerful demeanor served as one of my primary resources to stay healthy and sane. She was there in my living room without fail guiding us all through our Pilates movements with her expert cueing and instruction. Despite a pandemic and traumatic periods of social unrest, she conducted classes and communicated frequently with all who were able to take advantage of her classes. She never let us lose sight of the importance of taking care of our bodies. The kind of leadership Danielle demonstrates is just a part of who she is and, undoubtedly, she possesses an exceptional ability to promote and sustain wellness in both body and mind among her clients.

Whenever I’m asked about Pilates I always respond, “It’s all about the core.” Pilates has strengthened my core, the foundation of my body. It has improved my balance and my flexibility, as well. Your transformation will begin with Danielle as your instructor. She will give you personalized attention whether in a class setting, or in an individual session. Danielle explains, demonstrates and will modify exercises as needed to accommodate any injuries or limitations you may be experiencing...

I've been doing private pilates sessions twice a week with Danielle for more than four years. I started pilates as a way to break up my routine of running and Orange Theory. I'd tried yoga and barre classes, but never felt very engaged. After I tried a sample session with Danielle, I was hooked! She is motivating and creative working with me, as I'm always pushing to try new exercises and like to shake things up. I like the structure of the pilates routine, but appreciate the ability to...

I like the structure of the pilates routine, but appreciate the ability to advance as strength and balance improve. I also enjoy the variety between mat, reformer and chair. This year, in particular, pilates has been incredibly helpful, as I'm pregnant for the first time. Danielle has worked hard to keep offering me modifications and new exercises to keep me flexible and mobile as I become less and less so! She is a very integral part of my fitness routine and I plan to keep it that way! I give her my highest recommendation!

I’ve been doing a weekly class for several months now and I’ve seen progress in my ability to do each exercise. I look forward to attending each week and I wish I could do more classes every week! Pilates is a great challenge - both mentally and physically - and it feels so good after sitting at a desk all day. It’s nice to do the class in a virtual group setting so you know others are in it with you - even though we aren’t physically in the same space. Danielle’s cues, demonstrations and jokes make the class time fly by. Establishing Pilates as a regular part of my exercise routine is one good thing to have come out of the pandemic! Thank you, Danielle!

I met Danielle about three years ago as I limped into the gym to work out after recovering from a total knee replacement, caused by a downhill ski injury. The time goes so fast when I’m doing Pilates. I’m so much stronger, more flexible, and confident that I can enjoy my active life again. I’m skiing and golfing again and I don’t worry about not being strong or flexible enough. I can even keep up with my six grandchildren and share my active passions and sports with them. Pilates is fun and safe, which is important during a pandemic. I am doing one private session a week. It’s the perfect exercise for me now as I have learned that my bones are not as dense as I would like. I just learned I have osteopenia. Danielle is so knowledgeable and adapts my Pilates so it is safe, as well as strength building and still challenging. She also is a positive influence in my life on a weekly basis. I find that I’m eating better and taking better care of myself in many healthy ways. Pilates will be a regular part of my life forever and Danielle will be my instructor and coach.

After multiple knee surgeries and years lifting weights using compromised movement patterns, I suffered from back and hip pain. It ranged from annoying to debilitating. I looked fit, but I felt fragile. I recognized that the basic building blocks of fitness start with the core. However, the “sit-ups” routine that I had relied on for years wasn’t enough to keep me injury free. I tried Pilates at the urging of my wife to improve my core strength and postural alignment. I have been committed to taking one Pilates class per week with Danielle for the past three years. Thanks to Pilates, the intensity and reoccurrence of my back and hip pain has decreased considerably. The principles I’ve learned in Pilates have helped me understand how to control my body using the correct movement patterns and how to engage my core during activities. I’m able to move more freely throughout the day without thinking about my back and hip. I’m also able to stay consistent with training so that I can compete in endurance (50-100 mile) mountain bike and gravel cycling races. If I do have a flare up, I know that if I focus on my Pilates routine it will bring my body back into place. I’m committed to living a long, healthy and active life. I believe that maintaining a Pilates routine will allow me to pick up my kids, run, skate and cycle for the next 40 years.

In addition to pilates, we both took TRX classes with Danielle. I love pilates and have been fortunate to have some very good instructors over the years. Danielle is right up there at the top.

Pilates has been a part of my weekly routine for two years. I have done Pilates on the reformer and mat with Danielle. This summer I also began weekly TRX sessions with her. I always leave our Pilates sessions feeling stronger, taller and energized. I was nervous to try TRX. I thought it was a workout that only young people did. I didn’t know if I would be strong and coordinated enough at age 55 to do it. But Danielle knew just where to begin to help me understand the proper form and the basic fundamentals of TRX. She gently encourages me each week to push myself a little more. If there is a part of my body that is sore that day she adjusts the workout for me. Danielle is always positive and fun. I leave TRX feeling better about myself, and I’ve increased my strength and flexibility as well. I loved it so much that I convinced my husband to do TRX with me. After every class he always says, “I’m so glad you got me to try TRX!” I can’t say enough great things about Pilates and TRX with Danielle. I know I would not have stuck with both for so long if it wasn’t for Danielle. She is knowledgeable, encouraging and an absolute professional!

I love how both TRX and Pilates make my mind and body feel! Pilates has not only strengthened my core, but my balance and posture have also improved.

I've taken many different exercise classes and Danielle is the most efficient instructor I've had. She gives very clear and simple cues, and if something isn't working for me she always has alternatives ready. Each class is challenging, and Danielle also keeps things interesting by changing the workouts regularly. There is never any downtime; we're always working during class and that gives me a real sense of accomplishment when we're done. I started taking pilates with Danielle online six...

I'd never taken a Pilates class before. I gave it a try because I spend all day at a desk and I'm usually very tired by 5 p.m. Taking pilates with Danielle fixed that. I started noticing a stronger core after the first two weeks!
